$30 Join us every Thursday night for ‘Exploring Tango,’ a unique forum tailored for early-stage tango dancers and milongueros facing challenges. This hopes to parallel our intermediate and pre-intermediate classes, but any and all dancers are welcome. This forum offers an in-depth exploration of various aspects of the dance. Engage in dynamic discussions and practical explorations, tackling everything from rhythm challenges to nuances of social dance etiquette. ‘Exploring Tango’ provides a nurturing space to deepen your understanding, refine your skills, and foster connections within the tango community.
Topics include a rotating session (sometimes a series) of the following topics:
“Feeling the Beat: Tango vs Milonga vs Vals”: Understanding and distinguishing the unique rhythms of these dance styles.
“Navigating the Lead and Follow Dynamics”: Addressing common 101 challenges and strategies in leading and following.
“Unlocking Musicality 101 in Dance”: Techniques to interpret and express music in Tango. Getting whats in your head to the partnership.
“The Art of Dancing with Strangers”: Tips and experiences on adapting to new dance partners of all levels
“Stepping into the Social Scene: Milongas and Tango Trips”: Deciding when to join social dancing events and how to prepare.
“Maintaining Flow on the Dance Floor”: Strategies for smooth navigation and etiquette in crowded dance spaces.
“Variety vs. Complexity: Keeping Your Partner Engaged with Limited Moves”: Focusing on connection and musicality over a vast repertoire of moves.
“Mastering the Art of Cabeceo and Mirada: Navigating Invitation and Rejection in the Milonga”: Techniques and etiquette for inviting and accepting dances.
“Tango Terminology: A Linguistic Journey”: Exploring the essential terms and phrases in Tango.
“Cultural Norms and Etiquette in Argentine Tango”: Understanding the social and cultural aspects of Tango etiquette and traditions.
