This Saturday at Che Tango – Something a Little Different, and Somehow More Profound
First – Happy Easter to all who celebrate.
Whether it’s a day of reflection, renewal, or just a moment to pause and breathe, I hope you find something meaningful in it.
For us, it’s always been about connection, something shared.
And what better way to connect than through tango?
This Saturday, Che Tango will feel a little different – in the best way.
Instead of our usual bread, kielbasa, and pickles, we’ll mark the occasion with coffee, cake, and wine.
Because yes, we’re still dancing… but we’re also celebrating.
And after the practica, you are all invited to stay for something truly special:
A Rare Screening of Fermín – Glorias del Tango
This is Oliver Kolker’s first film – and it’s not something you can find online or stream. It’s not on Netflix. It’s not on YouTube.
This is your chance to see it – and feel it – with your tango family.
It tells the story of a psychiatric patient who speaks only through tango lyrics. Yes – only tango lyrics.
There’s a reason for that – a past that, in a strange and quiet way, mirrors something many of us carry.
But this isn’t just a film about trauma or healing.
It’s about:
Tango as language
Tango as memory
Tango as survival
It shows you how tango can break you, lift you, and rebuild you.
It reminds you why we keep coming back to the embrace.
And within this deeply human story, you’ll catch glimpses of those who shaped tango’s evolution the personality of Centipede dancing milonga, Chicho and Juana appearing at a milonga like it’s just any other night.
Moments that blur the line between past and future, art and reality.
I’ve seen this movie five times, and every time, I still cry.
I want you to experience it too – on this very special Easter weekend.
